Personal insights in the life of one of the last eagle hunters from Kyrgyzstan
The name of the man in the images is Ruslan, he was so kind to allow me following him while I travelled in Kyrgyzstan.
He is a traditional eagle hunter, started to learn how to train eagles when he was twelve years old. Today, almost twenty years later, he takes care of three of them.
Practicing eagle hunting is dangerous, it takes up to two years until they trust each other completely. For me it seems that he has an intimate relationship with each of them.
Being an eagle hunter sounds interesting, but takes a lot of effort. Everyday he goes to the mountains to train and feed them. I got personal insights in his life and documented it with photographs.
